Nilakantha Mahadeva Mantra Lyrics in English

Om Namo Nilakanthaya।

ॐ नमो नीलकण्ठाय।

Meaning of the Mantra: “ॐ नमो नीलकण्ठाय। (Om Namo Nilakanthaya)” is a Sanskrit mantra that translates to “Salutations to the Blue-Throated One.” This refers to Lord Shiva, who is called Nilakantha due to the mythological story where he drank the poison (halahala) during the churning of the ocean (Samudra Manthan) to save the world. The poison turned his throat blue, earning him the name Nilakantha.

Benefits: Chanting this mantra invokes the purifying and protective energy of Lord Shiva. It helps calm the mind, removes negative energies, and supports emotional healing. Devotees believe that regular repetition can aid in overcoming fear, anger, and toxic thoughts, much like how Shiva neutralized poison, symbolically transforming suffering into spiritual strength.
