Surya Gayatri Mantra Lyrics in English

Om Adityaya Vidmahe Diwakaraya Dhimahi
Tannah Suryah Prachodayat॥

ॐ आदित्याय विद्महे दिवाकराय धीमहि
तन्नः सूर्यः प्रचोदयात्॥

Meaning: The mantra “Om Adityaya Vidmahe Diwakaraya Dhimahi Tannah Suryah Prachodayat” translates to: “Let us meditate on the divine Sun (Aditya), the radiant illuminator (Diwakaraya). May that glorious Sun inspire and guide our intellect.” Here, “Adityaya” refers to the solar deity, “Diwakaraya” signifies the one who brings light, and “Dhimahi” expresses a meditative focus. The final line, “Tannah Suryah Prachodayat,” is a prayer asking the Sun to enlighten our minds and lead us on the path of truth and knowledge.

Benefits: Chanting the Surya Gayatri Mantra can enhance mental clarity, improve concentration, and energize the body and mind. It is also believed to help with balancing the solar plexus (Manipura chakra), which governs personal power and vitality. Practicing this mantra during sunrise strengthens the connection with cosmic energy, boosts confidence, and promotes overall well-being—both spiritual and physical.
